The Springwood Community Ivy Market is a craft market showcasing the work of Blue Mountains craftspeople.

Products either made, baked or grown such as aromatherapy and essential oils, cards, slumped glass, lead lighting, folk art, knitting, woodwork, jams, pickles and cakes are all found over two levels at the Ivy market, held on the second Saturday of each month (except January) with an extra Christmas market on the fourth Saturday in November, in the Springwood Civic Centre, Macquaire Road, Springwood from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm
 

The first market was held in July 1978 and was organised as a means of raising funds for the Springwood Civilian Widows Association.

It takes its name from the founder of that organisation, Ivy Kent.

The Committee became and independent registered charity known as the Springwood Community Ivy Market Inc, in 1985 and is run by a hardworking team of volunteers.
 

Two local groups also benefit each month, one by holding a raffle at the door and the other by running a canteen. These are often sporting groups, local schools, rural fire brigades, boys & girls clubs and various charity organisations such as Barnardos, Diabetes Australia and Hospital Auxiliaries.

A community table is provided to any charity organisation wishing to promote or raise community awareness of their work.
 

Benefits from the charity flow on into the Blue Mountains community in many ways. Revenue raised from the hiring of the stalls is channeled back through donations to needy project and community groups. In the 25 years since its registration the committee has put over $200,000 into our community.

Groups such as InteLife, Careflight, State Emergency Services, local bushfire brigades, playgroups, Springwood Hospital and many others have benefited. Public play equipment has been provided in Springwood and Winmalee with Ivy Market funding.

There are quite a lot of markets about now, but you'll go a long way before you find one presenting such a high standard of work. Many of our stall holders are skilled artisans (with prizes and awards to prove it). Visitors come from far afield to purchase that special gift and to have a wonderful morning just browsing among the exciting array of stalls.
