2007 Show Season

Members of the African Lovebird Society of Aust. Inc participate in a number of shows throughout a normal year in Sydney, in addition to the Table Shows at the bi-monthly meetings. There are also numerous affiliated bird societies in and around Sydney that conduct their annual shows between March and July (email or phone Contact no.s for details).

The following shows are a must for those who would like to view most of the very large number of colour mutations that are available in Lovebirds today.

With membership and inquiries still continuing to increase, the 2005 showing season will again provide the opportunity for anyone with an interest in these active and attractive lovebirds to come along to one or all of these shows. There are always plenty of members/exhibitors available to answer your most varied questions about all aspects of this hobby.

The Royal Easter Show

held on Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th April

Venue – Wynn Pavillion.

This excellent show this year will be held over two days (last two days of the show) and open to the public from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The Cage Bird Show is a combined show run by the RAS and attracts more than 700 entries from Budgerigar, Finch, Parrot, Canary and Lovebird Societies. The ALBS contributes 100 of these entries.

This sale will be held in conjunction with the Parrot Breeders & Exhibitors Society of NSW & will commence at 10:00am and will include Parrots, Lovebirds, Budgerigars and Finches - previously exceeding 1200 birds for sale. ( Pidgeons and Poultry are not allowed ).

May Show

held on Sunday 20 th  May.

Venue - Fairfield Showground, Smithfield Road, Smithfield.

This show caters for lovebirds to be exhibited in either Open and Young classes. This show regularly attracts upwards of 150 entries, a number which offers the public and newcomers to the Society an opportunity to see most of the colour mutations (colour variations) in the four popular lovebird species.

Another good reason to venture to Fairfield Showground is that the ALBS show is held in conjunction with a major show of the Koi Association (large and many coloured goldfish) as well as stalls form a variety of interests including pets, horticulture and food. A great place for the whole family, even rides for the children.
